Flood fury in Delhi, 22 trains cancelled

New Delhi, Sep 23: Railways on Sep 23 has cancelled 22 Delhi based trains and another 65 has been diversified due to flood fury in the capital as water in Yamuna crossed 207m danger mark.

The Old Yamuna Bridge, connecting east Delhi with the heart of the national capital, was closed for rail and road traffic on Sep 22 after water level in Yamuna rose menacingly.


Flood and irrigation department official informed, "The water level in Yamuna touched 207.06m, which is 2.23m above the danger mark of 204.83m. It will keep on rising and is likely to touch 207.30m."

The official also informed that people from low lying area have been already removed to safer places in New Delhi.
